Quartz

Description: Quartz is an engineered stone that is made of pure natural quartz and resin binders. It is also a non-porous surface, which makes it a very safe surface for food preparation.
Appearance: It has all the appeal of beautiful natural stone, but has more uniform patterns and colors.
Seams: As with natural stone, the seams are visible.
Durability: It is twice as strong as Granite and is resistant to staining. Quartz is mold and mildew resistant as well. It is not, however, resistant to high heat temperatures or harsh cleaning materials, which may damage the surface.
Maintenance: Engineered stone is essentially maintenance free and requires no sealing, reconditioning, or polishing. It can be cleaned with warm water.
Reparability: Even though it is stronger than granite, it is still susceptible to cracking with extreme pressure or high heat temperatures. It is very difficult to repair.
